TYPES OF SHOWS
Strolling Magic

Scott “strolls” among the crowd, performing sleight-of-hand magic with small props like cards, coins, jewelry, rope (“close-up magic”) for a few people at a time. Typically, this is done during the cocktail hour or at a hospitality suite, company picnic, open house, etc.
Strolling is also a good choice for table-to-table entertainment at dinners and banquets, either before or after the food is served. It is informal, and doesn’t interrupt the “flow” of the event. It is a good icebreaker at parties, as the short shows bring a small group of people together and they are very involved in the magic. When Scott moves on, they have something to talk about to start the conversation.
Many clients have Scott perform his strolling magic during the cocktail hour as a warm-up and to help get people ready for the bigger after-dinner show.
Formal Close-up
This is similar to strolling, except it is more formal. Scott remains in one spot, usually seated or standing behind a table, with the audience seated in front of him. This intimate show is perfect for smaller groups of twenty or less.
Some clients book the formal close-up show for larger events where they have different activities/entertainment going on at the same time, and people are “cycled” from one activity to the next.
Stand-up Show
Although Scott may stand in his other shows, this term refers to the show that people typically think of as a magic show: Scott is formally introduced and “given the floor” for a set period of time. Sometimes on a platform or stage, this is the “after dinner” type of show. Scott performs a comedy magic act (he does exclusively “clean” material) with lots of audience participation, and also ventriloquism if requested. The fee for this show depends on the size of the audience, travel time, and the length of the show: 30, 45, or 60 minutes.
Kids Show
Scott loves kids and relates to them well--he really has a “way” with them. His kids show involves fun and colorful magic, puppets, and loads of audience participation. This show can be done anywhere from a living room to a scout or church group to a school assembly or summer camp.
