Blind-Sighted!

How would you like to have a spectator shuffle his own deck, mentally select a number and a card (absolutely no forces) and then, with no fishing, you reveal his number and his card? Now you can! Not only that, but your eyes are closed the entire time! You can even be blindfolded! Talk about a reputation maker! This effect is easy to do, and the instructions are accompanied by photos so you’ll learn this quickly. Difficulty: EASY

$5.00

Brundle-Fly Transposition

Following the plot of the movie "The Fly", two signed selected cards from different colored decks merge together in a horrifying manner! Difficulty: Easy-intermediate

Clairvoyant Joker

A mentalism effect with five cards, where you apparently knew in advance which one the spectator would choose. To prove it, you turn over the remaining four--they are all jokers! He chose the only regular card! Sleight-free! Difficulty: EASY

Coincidental

Scott's incredible one-deck version of Juan Tamariz' "Total Coincidence." After Scott showed him this trick, Allan Ackerman broke into his trademark grin and exclaimed, "That's a great trick!" Virtually self-working! Difficulty: EASY

Couer d’Alene Assembly

This is a clean and convincing assembly routine. Three packets of 4 indifferent cards are shown and placed on the table. A 4th packet contains four jokers. After a magical gesture, the 1st indifferent packet is shown; it now contains a joker! This joker then vanishes from the packet. The 2nd indifferent packet now has 2 jokers! These vanish, and the 3rd indifferent packet has 3 jokers! These all vanish and the leader packet again has all 4 jokers! One card is taken from each of the other 3 packets and exchanged for a joker. All 4 packets now consist of 3 indifferent cards and 1 joker. Three packets are turned face up and spread--their jokers have vanished. The leader packet is turned over, one card at a time. Once again, all 4 jokers are together. Uses only 12 ungimmicked cards. Difficulty: Intermediate.

GR-EIGHT

Aldo Colombini liked this routine so much that he immediately asked Scott if he could have it for his Linking Ring column. This handling is improved: the trick is even more effective, and it's actually easier to do! Plus, the presentation has been revamped and scripted more fully. End result? A GREIGHT trick! Difficulty: EASY

Sun Valley Serenade

This KILLER routine plays for platform or close-up. It combines Reset with a Travelers routine. The 4 aces are initialed by a spectator. One at a time they change into the 4 queens and then instantly back into the aces. Showing your hand completely empty each time, you remove the 4 queens from 4 different pockets. The queens are placed on top of the aces, and then the aces instantly vanish! Three of the aces are removed from 3 different pockets. You pick up your wallet (which has been in full view since before the aces were initialed) open it, and remove the initialed ace of spades! No palming, no duplicates or gimmicked cards, and no difficult sleights! Difficulty: EASY!

The X on Val Dees

Scott's feature-length Oil & Water routine, with some incredibly strong sequences. It flows logically, using fewer cards as you go, and there is a lot of audience participation. You'll need to know how to do an Elmsley Count and a Jordan Count. Difficulty: Intermediate

Transpofusion

A spectator selects a card & signs it. You put it in your shirt pocket. You sign another card. You wave it and it visibly transforms into the spectator's card! She removes the card in your shirt pocket—the card you signed! There are no other cards in your pocket. You now pick up the two signed cards and place them between her hands. When she lifts her top hand, she is stunned to find only her card – yours has disappeared! Or so she thinks, for when she turns the card over, there is your signed card, magically fused to the back of hers! You let her keep the card to remember “this magic moment” that happened in her own hands! Difficulty: Easy-intermediate

$5.00

Treasure Valley Twist

4 cards turn face up one at a time, then all at once, and then magically... each of the four cards has a different back!

Two for Free

The deck is cut into two packets and the packets are shuffled (by a spectator). Two spectators choose a card, one from each packet. The cards are returned and lost, the deck reassembled, and the spectators cut the deck as many times as they wish. On the final cut, the deck is left in two packets. You give them a number; say, seven. They each count down seven cards in their respective packets, to find their chosen cards! Difficulty: EASY

$5.00

What in the World?

Paul Curry’s "Out of this World," is a classic that many magicians consider to be the best card trick ever. Here is Scott's routine, based on ideas by J.K. Hartman and J.C. Wagner. If you're only gonna do one card trick, do this one! Difficulty: EASY!
